Description

The Verian Alabaster Capsule Chain Pendant hangs a smooth dome-topped capsule of natural stone from a slender metal chain — quiet, vertical, and unmistakably considered. Each shade is carved from genuine natural alabaster, its soft cloud-like veining running the full length of the capsule. Switched off, it reads as a pale stone lantern suspended in the air; switched on, the whole capsule glows warm and honeyed from within, with a soft pool of light falling from the open base.

The chain is the second half of the design. Rather than a rigid rod or a hidden cord, each pendant drops on a visible link chain that can be draped, swagged, and hooked across the ceiling — so a single pendant can hang straight over a nightstand, or five and eight can be strung together into a cascading cluster where the chains themselves become part of the composition. It's a fixture that lets you decide the shape.

Sizing Tip

Because every capsule is the same size, the cluster's footprint is set by how far apart you place the ceiling plates — not by the fixture itself. Over a dining table, aim for the cluster to span roughly half to two-thirds of the table's width, with the lowest capsule 30–36″ above the tabletop. In an open room or stairwell, spread the plates wider and stagger the chain lengths so the capsules fall at different heights — that variation is what makes the cluster look composed rather than repetitive. Chains are adjustable, so the final arrangement is set during installation.

The Verian Alabaster Capsule Chain Pendant began with two decisions. The first was the shade: a smooth, dome-topped capsule carved from genuine natural alabaster, closed at the top and open at the base, so light glows through the stone and pools gently downward. Simple, vertical, quiet — a small stone lantern.

The second decision was the chain, and it's the one that changes everything. Most pendants hide their hardware. Here the chain is meant to be seen — long enough to drape, hook, and cross overhead, so a single capsule hangs straight over a nightstand while five or nine can be swagged across a ceiling into a cascade. You aren't buying a fixed shape. You're arranging one. No two installations are ever quite the same.

Are the capsules real alabaster?

Yes. Every capsule is carved from genuine natural alabaster — never resin, glass, or acrylic. Because it's real stone, each capsule has its own veining and slight color variation, which is the mark of authenticity, not a defect.

What bulb does it take?

Each capsule takes a standard E14 bulb — LED or Edison. We recommend a warm-white LED for the softest glow through the alabaster. (Please purchase a dimmable bulb if the dimming function is required.)

How long is the chain, and can it be adjusted?

Each capsule hangs on a 100 cm / 39.4″ chain, adjustable during installation so you can set each drop to a different height. For a tall stairwell, foyer, or atrium, contact us before ordering and we'll extend the chains for you.

How many heads should I choose?

A single capsule suits a bedside, powder room, or small entry. 3–5 heads work over a kitchen island or dining table. 7–13 heads are made for double-height entries, stairwells, and atriums where the cluster is seen from more than one level. Over a table, aim for the cluster to span roughly half to two-thirds of the tabletop width.

Will it be too bright or glary?

No. Light spreads inside the stone rather than shooting straight out, and the open base sends a soft pool downward — so you get a warm glow with no visible hotspot. It's ambient light rather than a bright task beam.

Will the stone yellow or fade?

Natural alabaster keeps its color for decades and won't yellow under the light or give off odors — unlike acrylic, which yellows and scratches with age.

Is it difficult to install?

A single pendant is straightforward — it hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box. For multi-head clusters we recommend an electrician, since each capsule needs its own ceiling plate positioned before the chains are draped. Plan the layout first, and always switch off power at the breaker.

How do I clean it?

Wipe both the stone and the metal gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, and abrasive pads — alabaster is a porous natural stone. Always switch off and let the bulb cool before cleaning.
