Onyx, travertine and agate slabs, lit from behind to show transmission
It is the only stone we work with that truly transmits light instead of reflecting it. Everything below is about what that means once you start specifying a fixture — wall thickness, veining, and what the room actually looks like at night.
Alabaster shades on the bench, part-finished
Zaragoza, Spain
Cut to eight or ten millimetres it glows amber right through, with the veining reading as shadow inside the light. Resin and composite shades copy the colour but never the depth, because there is nothing inside them for light to travel through.
Every block is different, so we photograph the actual slab before cutting and send it for your approval on any order of more than one piece.
Wall thickness decides how much of that light gets out:
Two lamps cut from the same block will still not match. That is the point of buying stone.
We photograph every slab before it goes on the saw and send it for your sign-off, so the piece that arrives is the piece you approved — not a close relative of it.
Bought direct, with no trading company in between. Each behaves differently under light, so choose by the effect you want rather than by the name.
Denizli, Turkey
Open pores and mineral banding, matte to the touch. Barely transmits light, so it glows at the edges and stays solid in the body. Right when the fixture should read as architecture even when it is switched off.
Carrara and Brescia, Italy
Hard, dense, strongly veined, from cool Carrara white to deep Brescia red. All marble parts of one fixture come from a single block so the veins run continuously across every element.
Isfahan, Iran
Nearly as translucent as alabaster, but with hard green and honey banding instead of soft cloud. The usual choice for backlit panels and any piece where the pattern itself is the feature.
Selected quarries
Pale, fine-grained and evenly translucent, with far less pattern than Persian onyx. We use it where a clean white glow is wanted, and for bases and rings that need to match a shade without competing with it.
Any quarry
Selenite, agate, labradorite, sandstone. Send the specification, or a photo of a slab you have seen elsewhere, and we come back on feasibility, price and lead time.
Cutting, carving, polishing, metalwork, wiring and testing all happen in one building. No part of your order is handed to another factory.
Owning the whole process is why we can take a drawing a contract factory would decline, and price it the same day. Nothing waits in someone else’s queue, and nothing gets quietly substituted on the line.
The floor runs multi-axis CNC stone cutters, wet polishing lines and a dedicated brass bench. Change one dimension and we remake that one part, rather than restarting the whole order.

Five stages, all under our own roof. Every piece is powered up and checked before packing.
Graded at origin for translucency, veining, colour and soundness before we buy it.
The block is sliced to a set thickness, so every shade in your order lights the same way.
Curves, tapers and wall thickness are worked down by hand against your approved drawing.
Coarse through ultra-fine grit, finished matte, satin or high gloss as you specify.
Metalwork fitted, wiring completed, then the fixture is lit and inspected before packing.
Single pieces through to project quantities, for homes, hotels and commercial interiors.
