Yes. The cylindrical shade is natural white alabaster on a metal frame. Since alabaster is a natural stone, every shade has its own texture and slight color variation, so the one you receive may differ a little from our photos. This is an inherent quality of the stone, not a defect, and it gives the soft, diffused light its character.
How tall is this alabaster sconce, and can I order a matching pair?
Each sconce measures Ø 3.9 in x H 23.6 in (10 x 60 cm), a slim vertical profile that suits narrow walls, hallways and the sides of a mirror or bed. To get a pair, choose the size option marked *2, which ships two matching sconces together. Both options come in the same three metal finishes.
Is this sconce dimmable, and what bulb does it use?
No, this sconce is not dimmable. It uses a push-button switch and takes an E14 bulb, LED or Edison style, with a maximum of 5W. It runs on AC 110-240V. A low-wattage warm bulb works well here, because the alabaster shade softens and diffuses the light into a gentle ambient glow rather than a bright beam.
Can I install this alabaster sconce in a bathroom?
This sconce is designed for indoor use, and we do not publish a moisture or IP rating for it. For that reason we cannot confirm it for wet zones such as showers or areas exposed to splashing water. It suits offices, hallways, bedrooms and living spaces. If you are planning a bathroom installation, please contact us before ordering so we can advise.
Which metal finishes are available, and how should I care for it?
You can choose Antique Copper & White, Gold & White or Black & White; the white is the alabaster shade. To clean, switch off and let it cool, then wipe the stone and metal gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep water and household cleaners off the alabaster, because the natural stone is porous and can mark easily.

Translucent properties
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.

Naturally formed
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.

Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.

Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.

Clean Only with a Dry Cloth
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.

It is heavier than it looks.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Limitations of resin
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
