The Perrin Stacked Alabaster Wall Sconce consists of three stacked elements—a brass frame, a marble sphere, and a natural alabaster shade—arranged in tiers like display pieces on a shelf, with light emanating only from the bottom.

Want to dim it? Two things have to match

The fixture itself does not restrict dimming — it depends on what you fit. Brightness adjusts only with a dimmable G9 bulb paired with a compatible two-way triac dimmer. With a standard bulb, no wall switch will dim it.

The design

Three Shapes, and Only One Lights

Everything above is there to be looked at.

Most wall lights are a shade with a bulb behind it. Perrin is a small stack of objects that happens to glow at the bottom — a brass sphere, a stone sphere, and a dome of natural alabaster, resting one on the next like something arranged on a shelf. Only the dome illuminates. The two spheres above it never light at all.

That single decision is what makes it work. Because the source sits at the lowest point and faces down, the light pools on the wall rather than firing out at eye level. Walk past it in a hallway at night and you see the glow, not the bulb. Sit up in bed beside it and it lights the page without waking the room. And everything above is lit indirectly — which is why the brass reads as warm metal and the stone reads as stone, instead of both vanishing into glare.

It also means the piece has two lives. Switched off in daylight it is a shape on a wall: pale stone, warm metal, a stack you could have collected rather than wired in. Switched on in the evening it becomes a light. Most fixtures are a dark object for sixteen hours a day and hope you don't look; this one is asking you to.

Common Questions

The things people ask before they order.

Is it real stone?

Yes — natural alabaster and marble, not resin or glass. Every shade has its own veining, so yours won't match the photo exactly.

Does the whole thing light up?

No. Only the bottom dome lights, and it points down. The two balls above it stay unlit.

Is it bright or glary?

Neither. Light spreads inside the stone, so you get a soft pool on the wall — no visible bulb.

What bulb does it take?

G9, not included, easy to change yourself. We recommend 3000K warm white LED.

Can I dim it?

Yes — with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. A standard bulb won't dim.

Gold or black?

Same fixture, two hardware tones. Gold blends with the warm stone; black outlines the shape against a pale wall.

Can it go in a bathroom?

Beside a vanity, yes. Not in a shower or over a tub — IP20, no water protection.

How do I clean it?

A soft dry cloth. No water, no chemicals, no scrubbing pads — alabaster is porous.
