Light changes everything
Discover sculptural lighting designed to bring warmth, character, and atmosphere to every room.
The Nimbus Alabaster Flush Mount Ceiling Light resembles a softly glowing cloud sculpted from natural stone, quietly resting on the ceiling. A single round of genuine natural alabaster is shaped into a gently pillowed silhouette, ringed by a slim metal band and finished with a small central finial—quiet, low-profile, and quietly luxurious. Light doesn't blast straight down; it rises through the stone and returns as a soft, glare-free wash that flatters everything beneath it. No harsh downlight, no visible bulb — just calm, ambient warmth from above.
It can be installed flush against the ceiling, making it especially suitable for low-ceilinged spaces that cannot accommodate chandeliers or large ceiling lights—such as bedrooms, hallways, entryways, walk-in closets, and bathrooms—areas often overlooked in lighting design. It transforms the most overlooked plane in the room—the ceiling—into a quiet piece of sculpture.
No two pieces of stone are ever the same
Alabaster is a natural stone, so every piece carries its own veining and subtle variation in color. The fixture you receive may therefore differ slightly from the images shown.

The slim ring and finial come in brass, black, or nickel — warm and gilded, crisp and modern, or cool and contemporary. The same soft stone form suits nearly any palette.
The warm-white LED is built into the fixture, so there's no bulb to buy, fit, or ever change — just hardwire it and switch on. It works with a common wall switch (switch not included). For dry, indoor locations only.
Two diameters, both just 5.9″ deep — a low-profile stone disc that hugs the ceiling where a pendant won't fit.
Run two or three in a line down a long hallway.
A soft focal point over a larger room.

A simple rule for flush mounts: add the room's length and width in feet — that total, in inches, is roughly the ideal fixture diameter. A 5 × 7 ft entry (≈12″) suits the small size; a 7 × 9 ft bedroom (≈16″) suits the large. For a long hallway, run two or three in a line rather than one oversized fixture. Both sizes share the same 5.9″ depth, so you're really choosing how wide the glow spreads.
The gentlest thing in the room, overhead.
This flush mount began with an unlikely idea: could stone feel soft? Instead of a flat disc or a hard geometric shade, the alabaster was carved into a gently pillowed form — a rounded, cloud-like silhouette that seems to rest against the ceiling rather than hang from it. A slim metal ring holds it, and a small finial sits at the center. Nothing more.
That softness is the whole point. Light doesn't shoot down from it; it rises through the stone and comes back warm and diffused, so the room fills with an even, honeyed glow instead of a hard beam. Switched off, the stone reads as a pale sculptural medallion overhead — quiet in daylight. Switched on, it becomes what it always looked like: a small cloud, lit from within.
It was drawn for the rooms most lighting forgets — the low ceilings of bedrooms, hallways, and entries where a chandelier won't fit and a builder-grade fixture feels like an afterthought. Because every shade is real alabaster, no two share the same veining, so even this quietest of pieces is genuinely one of a kind. It asks for nothing, and gives a room a sense of calm.
Pillowed natural stone that hugs the ceiling — built for the low-ceiling spaces a pendant can't solve.
At just 5.9″ deep, the flush profile sits close against the ceiling where a pendant or chandelier simply won't fit — bedrooms, hallways, entries, closets, and baths with limited height. It brings a sculptural focal point to the one plane most lighting ignores.
Instead of a flat disc, the alabaster is carved into a gently pillowed, cloud-like form — it reads as a pale sculptural medallion overhead even switched off, and turns luminous the moment it's on. Beautiful in daylight, glowing at night.
The slim ring and finial come in brass, black, or nickel to suit your palette. The warm-white LED is built in, so there's no bulb to buy or ever replace, and natural stone won't yellow over the years — just hardwire it and switch on.

Natural stone lighting
The Vidir lighting edit
Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.
Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.
Designed for better living
Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Our product
Alabaster Cylindrical Chain Chandelier
Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
THE ART OF ALABASTER
The natural texture of alabaster brings a warm, mineral quality to the space. (Please contact us if you require a specific texture.)
A pure white texture reminiscent of fresh snow—warm, smooth, and refined.
Deep, inky patterns flow across a white base.
