After rain, mushrooms appear on the forest floor overnight, quiet and unexpected, gathered close as if sharing a secret. Mori, the Japanese word for forest, captures that moment: three mushroom caps of different heights rise on slender, gently curving stems from one stone-like base.

Each cap is hand-textured with fine radiating ridges, like the gills of a real mushroom. Tap the foot switch and a warm 3000K glow spills from beneath every cap, lighting the stems and washing the wall with soft, layered light.

Standing 186 cm tall, this sculptural mushroom floor lamp is a statement piece by day and a calm, glare-free light by night. Its matte grey finish sits naturally beside wood, linen, plaster and stone, in wabi-sabi, Japandi, biophilic and modern organic interiors.

Three caps, three heights of light

Most floor lamps light a room from one point. Mori lights it in layers, so the glow fills a corner from eye level down to the floor.

The tall cap

The widest cap sits highest, spreading light over the room like a canopy over a forest path.

No electrician and no wiring. Mori is a plug-in floor lamp with integrated LEDs, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. The switch sits on the cord at floor level: tap it with your foot, no bending or reaching behind the lamp.

Why fiberglass and built-in LED

Hand-textured fiberglass

Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) lets us sculpt fine, natural ridges into each cap and give the stems their organic curves, while staying strong and much lighter than stone or concrete of the same size. The matte grey finish is calm and easy to live with, and subtle differences in the hand-made texture give every lamp its own character.

Warm 3000K integrated LED

LEDs are built into each cap, so the light sits exactly where it should and there are no bulbs to buy or replace. Warm 3000K white is softer than daylight and close to the glow of a traditional lamp, so the room feels relaxed in the evening. LEDs also run far cooler than halogen or incandescent bulbs.

Size and placement

How much space does the Mori floor lamp need?

The lamp measures L 81 × W 58 × H 186 cm (31.9 × 22.8 × 73.2″). Allow a floor area of about 81 × 58 cm, similar to a small armchair. On a standard 240 cm ceiling, roughly 54 cm of clearance remains above the tallest cap, so the room does not feel crowded.

Where does it look and work best?

A room corner or the side of a sofa or reading chair works best, because the three caps are seen in profile and light the wall behind them. Keep it within 150 cm of an outlet and out of main walkways so the cord stays safely along the wall.

Power, switch and light

Does it need an electrician to install?

No. Mori is a plug-in lamp with a 150 cm (59.1″) power cord. Plug it into a standard wall outlet and it is ready to use; no hardwiring is required.

How do I turn it on and off?

A foot switch is fitted on the power cord. One tap turns all three caps on, another tap turns them off.

Is it dimmable?

The standard version has an on/off foot switch and is not dimmable. A dimmable version is available on request; please contact us before ordering so we can confirm it for you.

What light source does it use, and can the bulbs be replaced?

Each cap has an integrated LED in warm white 3000K. The LEDs are built in, so there are no separate bulbs to buy or replace. The maximum power for the whole lamp is 40 W.

Will it work in my country?

The lamp accepts AC 110–240 V, so it runs on mains power in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and most other regions. Because the voltage range is already covered, a simple plug adapter is enough where the socket shape differs; no voltage converter is needed.

Does the lamp get hot?

LEDs produce far less heat than halogen or incandescent bulbs, which makes them well suited to a fiberglass lamp. As with any light fitting, keep it clear of curtains and fabric draped directly over the caps.

Material and care

What is fiberglass (FRP)?

FRP stands for fiberglass-reinforced plastic: a resin strengthened with glass fibres. It holds fine sculpted detail, resists cracking better than plaster, and is much lighter than stone or concrete of the same size. Each Mori is hand-finished, so small differences in texture are normal.

What does IP20 mean? Can I use it outdoors or in a bathroom?

IP20 means the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, such as fingers, but has no protection against water or moisture. Use it only indoors in dry rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices, cafés and hotel lobbies. It is not suitable for bathrooms, balconies, patios or outdoor use.

How do I clean it?

Unplug the lamp first. Dust the textured caps, stems and base with a soft, dry brush or microfibre cloth. Avoid water, solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the matte finish.
