Every alabaster shade is one of a kind
The shade of this alabaster wall sconce is cut from genuine natural alabaster (gypsum stone) — a translucent mineral formed over thousands of years. No two shades share the same veining, hue, or translucency, so the warm marbling that glows across your alabaster wall light exists nowhere else on earth. It's not resin, not glass, not plastic — it is a genuine piece of the earth, and it belongs to no one else but you.
Warm, soft, never harsh
What makes alabaster captivating is its rare ability to glow without revealing the source. As light fills the stone shade, it filters out all glare and softens into a warm, honey-amber glow. In an instant the cold edges of a bedroom, hallway, or entryway dissolve into a quiet, inviting warmth — exactly the atmospheric quality designers reach for in fine alabaster lighting, and a glow no printed resin shade can imitate.
Hand-hammered, never machine-stamped
The slender torch arm and backplate are made of solid brass, hand-hammered to a rich, forged texture that catches and plays with the light. Every dent and facet is the trace of a craftsman's hand, giving this brass wall sconce a warm, artisanal character that mass-produced, machine-stamped metal simply cannot match. Paired with the pale stone shade, the aged-brass finish creates a striking, sculptural contrast — a true organic-modern wall light.
Built to age, not to fade
Both natural alabaster and solid brass have been treasured for centuries for one reason: they endure. Unlike resin or plated metal, the alabaster will not yellow under the warmth of the bulb, and the brass develops a graceful patina rather than peeling or fading. Its genuine, substantial weight is the first thing customers notice that tells them they've received the real thing. As the years pass, this natural stone wall light only deepens in character — an heirloom, not a trend.

Why real materials beat resin & plated metal
| Dimension | Alabaster & Brass | Resin / Plated Metal |
|---|---|---|
| Touch | Warm, smooth stone like jade with hand-hammered solid brass—substantial, real weight | Cold or plasticky, lightweight and hollow-feeling |
| Light Transmission | Semi-translucent alabaster reveals layered depth—light glows with genuine character | Flat, uniform transparency—light passes through without life or warmth |
| Durability | Natural stone never yellows; solid brass ages into a graceful patina, lasting decades | Resin yellows and plated finishes peel or fade when heated over time |
| Uniqueness | Each stone shade and forged-brass arm is genuinely one of a kind | Mass-produced from molds—every unit looks identical |
Alabaster Wall Sconce — Hammered Brass Torch Wall Light. Illuminate your space with sculptural elegance. This alabaster wall sconce artfully combines a slender, hand-hammered brass arm with a natural alabaster shade that emits a soft glow, resembling an artistic torch mounted on the wall. The hammered brass surface boasts a unique texture that shimmers in the light, while the translucent alabaster casts a warm halo—a striking fixture that infuses any room with the warmth of natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship.
No two pieces of stone are ever the same
Alabaster is a natural stone, so every piece carries its own veining and subtle variation in color. The fixture you receive may therefore differ slightly from the images shown.

Select the size marked (*2) — two together come at a better price than buying them separately.

Natural stone in one hand, hammered brass-toned metal in the other — held up so you can see exactly what you're buying.
The cylinder shade is cut from a solid block of genuine natural alabaster, then ground and polished by hand — coarse grit to fine — until the surface turns smooth and silken. The veining runs right through the stone rather than sitting on the surface, so no two shades are ever alike.
The torch stem and backplate carry a hand-hammered texture — dozens of small facets that catch the light differently from every angle, warm and matte rather than mirror-bright. It's substantial in the hand, mounts flush to a standard wall box, and hides fingerprints instead of collecting them.
— Real stone. Hammered metal. Ground and finished by hand. —

The tall, torch-like silhouette makes a sculptural focal point wherever you want warmth and drama.
A warm, glare-free glow at bedside — mount one, or a pair for balance on both sides.
Turns a plain corridor or entry wall into a sculptural welcome that guests notice at once.
Flank a mirror, fireplace, or console for an elevated, high-contrast designer look.
This torch sconce looks striking on its own and even better in twos. Mount one on each side of a bed, mirror, or fireplace at the same height for a balanced, designer-styled look. Because each shade is natural alabaster and each arm is hand-hammered, your pair is beautifully matched yet never identical.
Switch off power at the breaker and confirm the wires are dead with a voltage tester. Hold the sconce to the wall and mark your mounting height — center about 48–52″ from the floor beside a bed. Handle the alabaster shade gently.
Safety first — if unsure about wiring, hire a qualified electrician.Secure the hammered-brass backplate to a standard US wall junction box, using suitable wall anchors if needed. Check it sits perfectly level and vertical before wiring.
Connect live (L), neutral (N), and ground (E) per the manual, then tuck the wires neatly into the box before fixing the fixture to the backplate.
Attach the alabaster shade, connect the power, and enjoy.

Natural stone lighting
The Vidir lighting edit
Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.
Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.
Designed for better living
Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Our product
Alabaster Cylindrical Chain Chandelier
Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
THE ART OF ALABASTER
The natural texture of alabaster brings a warm, mineral quality to the space. (Please contact us if you require a specific texture.)
A pure white texture reminiscent of fresh snow—warm, smooth, and refined.
Deep, inky patterns flow across a white base.
A dynamic pattern resembling a bolt of lightning streaking across the sky.
Fine, intricate cracks evoking the aesthetic beauty of a sheet of ice at the moment it shatters.
A pattern as light and airy as falling snowflakes, with every single flake unique.
Material · Method · Light
Every texture tells a story of natural light and patient craftsmanship.

Crafted from select natural alabaster, preserving its unique veining.
Meticulously cut and shaped by artisans.
Repeatedly ground and polished for a smooth, refined texture.
Carefully assembled and quality-inspected.
