The Akari lampshade is made from bark paper, a light, strong, and translucent natural material. The bark is cleaned, boiled, and pounded to create a pulp. Artisans then spread the pulp evenly across bamboo mats and sun-dry it to create paper. ensuring its unique light transmittance.
The Fusion of Paper and Frame
The most skillful step in the entire production process is to attach the bark paper to the frame. Carefully apply the mulberry bark paper to the frame to ensure that the paper adheres smoothly and tightly to the frame.
