Petals of stone, opening into light.

The Seraphine Tiered Alabaster Petal Wall Sconce gathers curved slabs of natural alabaster into three softly flaring tiers, each petal held by slim metal bands and rounded studs.

Picture the last light of evening in a quiet hallway. Beside the mirror, a cluster of pale stone petals begins to glow, one tier behind another, their natural veins appearing like the lines of a leaf held up to the sun. Seraphine was made for that moment: part sculpture, part light.

Its petals curve outward at the top and bottom and fan wide through the middle, so the sconce has depth and movement from every angle. Even switched off, it reads as a carved stone relief on the wall.

A flower of stone that blooms every evening.

Hang it beside the bed, on either side of a vanity mirror or fireplace, in an entryway or along a staircase, and it becomes the piece guests remember.

Three tiers of light

Seraphine is built in layers, and each one plays a part in how the light reaches your wall.

Size and placement

Seraphine is wider than it is tall, so it reads as a statement piece. Give it a little breathing room on the wall.

Why natural alabaster glows

Every petal on Seraphine is real stone. Here is what that means for the light in your room.

Light passes through

Alabaster is naturally translucent, so each petal glows from within instead of reflecting light.

Warmer, softer tone

Milky white when off, the stone turns cream to amber when lit, flattering faces and finishes.

Depth from layering

Overlapping tiers create gentle shifts of brightness across the sconce, never a flat glow.

Simple care

Alabaster is soft and porous. Dust with a dry cloth and keep it away from water and sprays.

Every petal, its own pattern

Because every petal is cut from natural alabaster, each carries its own veining. Together they make your Seraphine one of a kind.

Soft cloud

Pale stone with gentle, misty drifts.

Bold amber

Warmer streaks with a dramatic glow.

Clean light

Near-white stone with fine lines.

The story behind Seraphine

Every Vidir piece starts with a single feeling we want a room to have. For Seraphine, it was the quiet moment a flower opens at the end of the day.

  1. 01

    A flower that never fades

The idea began with a peony in late bloom: petals curling open, light catching on their edges. We wanted a wall light that holds that moment forever, opening a little more each time it is switched on.

  2. 02

    Stone instead of petals

Natural alabaster was the only choice. Like a petal held up to the sun, it lets light pass through and reveals its veins, giving every piece a warmth that glass or acrylic cannot imitate.

  3. 03

    Set like a jewel

Rather than hiding the structure, we let it show. Slim metal bands and rounded studs hold each petal the way a fine setting holds a gemstone, turning the fixings into part of the ornament.

  4. 04

    Three tiers, one bloom

The petals were arranged in three tiers, curving out at the top and bottom and fanning wide in the middle, so the sconce looks alive from every angle and the light spreads softly across the wall.

The result is a light that feels less like a fixture and more like something that grew there.

Questions before you buy

Light and bulb

Does it support dimming?

Dimming depends on the bulb you choose. With dimmable E26 or E27 bulbs, Seraphine can be dimmed.

Is a bulb included?

No, bulbs are not included. It takes E26 or E27 bulbs, up to 40W.

E26 or E27, which will I receive?

E26 is the US standard and E27 is common in Europe and Asia. Let us know if you need a specific socket for your region.

Which bulb do you recommend?

A warm white LED bulb (2700K–3000K) brings out the amber glow of the stone and runs cool.

Stone and care

Is the alabaster real stone?

Yes, every petal is natural alabaster, so veining and tone vary slightly from piece to piece.

Can I choose the veining style?

Yes. Email us your preference before your order is prepared and we will match it as closely as possible.

How do I clean it?

Turn it off, let it cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water and chemical cleaners on the stone.

Installation and ordering

How high should I mount it?

Mount the center about 60–66 in (152–168 cm) from the floor, roughly at eye level.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations, so it suits a powder room but not showers or splash zones.

How do I turn it on?

A push-button switch on the fixture turns it on and off.

Does it work with US power?

Yes, it runs on AC 110–240V, which covers standard US household power.

Who should install it?

We recommend having a licensed electrician install it to meet local electrical codes.

How long until it ships?

It ships from our factory after 5 to 10 days of preparation.

The alabaster edit

The Vidir lighting edit

The only shade that glows from inside.

Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.

01

Translucent properties

Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.

02

Naturally formed

The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.

03

Durable and long-lasting

Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.

Designed for better living

Stone Light Fixtures

Natural stone is different from metal or glass. Understanding these points before you buy ensures there won't be any surprises after installation.
01

Light Color Defines the Look

Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.

02

Clean Only with a Dry Cloth

Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.

03

It is heavier than it looks.

The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.

Industrially Replicated Surface

Limitations of resin

Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
