Panels of stone, set like stained glass.

The Orlaine Faceted Alabaster Panel Chandelier sets panels of natural alabaster into a slim stainless steel frame, each facet angled to form a wide, inverted silhouette, all lit from within by integrated 3000K warm white LED.

Imagine an old reading room where the lamps were glazed not with glass but with thin sheets of stone, so the light came through soft, warm and full of texture. Orlaine brings that idea into today's home. Its faceted shape feels architectural and calm, while the natural alabaster fills the room with a quiet golden glow.

Slim metal frames outline every panel, much like the leading in a stained-glass window. By day the chandelier reads as a graphic pattern of stone and line; by night every facet lights up with its own clouds and amber veins, so no two panels and no two chandeliers ever look the same.

Orlaine comes in four round sizes, from a 23.6" centerpiece for a breakfast table to a 47.2" statement for a double-height foyer, and two linear sizes made to stretch the full length of a dining table or kitchen island.

Every facet a window, every window a glow.

Natural alabaster, never the same twice

Every Orlaine panel is cut from natural alabaster, a soft, translucent stone formed slowly by nature. Its clouds, veins and tones are part of the stone itself, never printed, painted or repeated.

No two panels are exactly alike, so your chandelier is truly one of a kind.

Pale stone, misty drifts.

Bold amber veining

The story behind Orlaine

Orlaine began with a question: what if a chandelier could glow the way a stained-glass window does at sunset, but in natural stone? We imagined thin panels of alabaster set into a fine frame, each one catching the light differently, so the whole piece would feel less like a lamp and more like an architectural detail.

We cut every panel from natural alabaster and angled them outward into a wide, faceted bowl. The slim stainless steel frame was kept deliberately fine, just enough to hold the stone and draw a clean line between each facet, the way leading frames colored glass.

Now picture it at home. On a weekday evening it hangs above the dining table, its panels glowing a warm gold while dinner is served. At a weekend gathering, guests notice that each facet holds a different pattern of clouds and amber veins. Late at night, with every other light switched off, Orlaine is still there, a soft lantern of stone above a quiet room.

Over time the stone becomes part of the house. You start to recognize your favorite panel, the one with the deepest amber streak, the same way you know the grain of your table or the light from a favorite window.

A window of stone, glowing at the center of your home.

Questions before you buy

Light

Is it dimmable?

It is on/off as standard. A dimmable version is available on request; email us before ordering.

Do I need to buy bulbs?

No. Orlaine uses integrated LED, so the light source is built in.

What color is the light?

3000K warm white, which the alabaster softens into a golden, amber-toned glow.

Is it bright enough to light a whole room?

It gives a warm, diffused glow. In large rooms, pair it with recessed or wall lights for task lighting.

Size and installation

Which size should I choose?

Pick a diameter or length about half to two-thirds of your table. Round suits round or square tables; linear suits long tables and islands.

How high should it hang?

Keep the bottom of the shade 30–36" (76–91 cm) above the table, and at least 7 ft above walkways.

How long is the downrod?

The downrod is 39.4" / 100 cm. Longer downrods can be made to order for high ceilings.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

Yes. A sloped-ceiling mount can be made to order; send us your ceiling angle.

Does it work with US power?

Yes, it runs on AC 110–240V, which covers standard US household power.

Who should install it?

We recommend a licensed electrician. The larger sizes are heavy, so make sure the ceiling box is rated for the fixture.

Stone and care

Is the alabaster real stone?

Yes, every panel is natural alabaster, so veining and tone vary from panel to panel.

Can I choose the veining style?

Yes. Email us your preference before your order is prepared and we will match it as closely as possible.

How do I clean it?

Turn it off, then dust the panels and frame with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water and chemical cleaners on the stone.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations only.

How long until it ships?

It ships from our factory after 5 to 10 days of preparation.

The alabaster edit

The Vidir lighting edit

The only shade that glows from inside.

Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.

01

Translucent properties

Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.

02

Naturally formed

The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.

03

Durable and long-lasting

Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.

Designed for better living

Stone Light Fixtures

Natural stone is different from metal or glass. Understanding these points before you buy ensures there won't be any surprises after installation.
01

Light Color Defines the Look

Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.

02

Clean Only with a Dry Cloth

Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.

03

It is heavier than it looks.

The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.

Industrially Replicated Surface

Limitations of resin

Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
