A new perspective
Light changes everything
Discover sculptural lighting designed to bring warmth, character, and atmosphere to every room.
Named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, this alabaster wall sconce brings a soft, moonlike glow to the hours after sunset.
Two globes of natural white alabaster rest in curved brass cradles, divided by a single slim ledge. When you press the small push-button on the side, light travels through the stone itself and reveals its veins and warm, cloudy textures. Because every piece of alabaster is different, no two Selene sconces glow exactly alike.
The tall, narrow frame measures 50 cm high and just 6 cm wide, so this modern brass wall sconce fits where wider lamps can't: beside the bed as a pair of bedside wall lamps, along a hallway, on a staircase landing, or flanking a fireplace or artwork in the living room. Choose gold for a warm luxury look, black for crisp contrast, or nickel for a cooler Scandinavian or Japandi interior.
Selene runs on AC 110–240 V and takes two G9 bulbs, so it suits homes in the US, UK, Europe, Australia and beyond. Fit dimmable G9 bulbs and the light can be dimmed. It is rated IP20 for indoor, dry rooms.
Choose the size option marked (*2) to get two sconces at a better price than buying them separately. A matching pair is the classic way to frame a bed, a fireplace, a sideboard or a doorway.
Alabaster is a natural stone, so every piece carries its own veining and subtle variation in colour. The globes you receive may differ slightly from the photos, and that is exactly what makes your lamp one of a kind.
Not a defect, a signature. Natural variation is a characteristic of real stone and proof that your sconce is made from genuine alabaster.
Because we select every piece of stone by hand, you can tell us which look you prefer before your sconce is made.
Each piece of stone is unique, so the final pattern will follow your chosen style rather than match an illustration exactly.
We chose these two materials because each one solves a different problem, and together they create light that feels warm, calm and built to last.
Together: the warm sheen of brass frames the soft glow of stone, turning a simple wall light into a piece of art that looks beautiful both switched on and switched off.

Slim enough for narrow walls. At just 6 cm wide, Selene fits beside a bed, between doorways or along a tight hallway where wider sconces won't.
Mounting height. Centre the sconce around 150–165 cm (59–65″) from the floor in hallways and living rooms. Beside a bed, place the lower globe a little above shoulder height when sitting up.
Whether it dims depends on the bulbs you use. If you buy dimmable G9 bulbs, this lamp can be dimmed.
Yes. Both globes are natural white alabaster. Veins, colour shifts and small inclusions are signs of real stone, so no two Selene sconces look exactly the same.
Yes. Leave a note with your order or contact our team and tell us whether you prefer soft and clean, gentle clouds or bold veining. We will select stone to match your preference as closely as nature allows.
Brass gives the sconce a strong, corrosion-resistant frame that holds a fine finish, while alabaster softens the light into a warm, glare-free glow. Together they make a lamp that is both durable and beautiful.
Choose the size option marked (*2). You will receive two matching sconces at a better price than buying them one by one.
No. Selene is rated IP20, which means it is suitable for indoor, dry locations only, such as bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and staircases. Please avoid bathrooms, steamy kitchens and outdoor spaces.
The sconce takes two G9 bulbs, with a maximum of 40 W. We recommend G9 LED bulbs for lower heat and longer life, which also helps protect the alabaster.
Selene runs on AC 110–240 V, so it works in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and most other regions. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.
For hallways and living rooms, most people centre the sconce around 150–165 cm (59–65″) from the floor. Beside a bed, mount it so the lower globe sits a little above shoulder height when you are sitting up.
Each Selene sconce is prepared at our factory with an average lead time of 5–10 days before it ships.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Alabaster is a soft, porous stone, so avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners. Wipe the brass gently to keep its finish.

Natural stone lighting
The Vidir lighting edit
Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.
Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.
Designed for better living
Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Alabaster Cylindrical Chain Chandelier
Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
THE ART OF ALABASTER
The natural texture of alabaster brings a warm, mineral quality to the space. (Please contact us if you require a specific texture.)
A pure white texture reminiscent of fresh snow—warm, smooth, and refined.
Deep, inky patterns flow across a white base.
A dynamic pattern resembling a bolt of lightning streaking across the sky.
Fine, intricate cracks evoking the aesthetic beauty of a sheet of ice at the moment it shatters.
A pattern as light and airy as falling snowflakes, with every single flake unique.
Material · Method · Light
Every texture tells a story of natural light and patient craftsmanship.

Crafted from select natural alabaster, preserving its unique veining.
Meticulously cut and shaped by artisans.
Repeatedly ground and polished for a smooth, refined texture.
Carefully assembled and quality-inspected.
