Natural Alabaster Wall Sconce
A small monument of glowing stone
The Cairn Alabaster Wall Sconce stacks three softly rounded forms of natural alabaster, a cup, a ring and a sphere, into one column of warm light. Off, it is a quiet stone sculpture. On, it glows from within and the light gathers in the seams between each piece.
2 models Gold or Black 3000K integrated LED Pair pricing
Travelers pile stones into cairns along mountain paths, quiet markers that say the way is safe. The Cairn brings that calm gesture to your wall.
Natural alabaster lets light pass through, so each piece glows with its own clouds and veins in ivory and honey tones.
A built-in warm 3000K LED lights the whole stack evenly, with no bulbs to buy or change.
A cup, a ring and a sphere of natural alabaster form one sculptural column, with light glowing in every seam.
Choose one stack on a hook arm and chain, or two mirrored stacks that glow up and down from one wall plate.
Integrated 3000K LED gives a soft, glare-free glow that flatters skin, wood and plaster, with nothing to replace.
Warm Gold echoes the honey tones of the stone, while Black adds crisp contrast for modern organic or Japandi rooms.

Anatomy of a cairn
Each form shapes the light a little differently. Together they read as one calm column, with a bright line of light where each stone meets the next.
3000K warm white. Softer than daylight, brighter than candlelight: the warm tone that brings out the honey colours in alabaster.
Natural alabaster
Alabaster is natural stone, so the veining, tone and glow of your sconce will never match the photos, or any other piece, exactly. That difference is the mark of real stone.
Questions
Clear answers on choosing, installing and caring for your Cairn sconce. Still unsure? Our team is happy to help.
Model A (Hook Arm) hangs a single stone stack from a curved arm and chain, ideal for bedsides, reading corners and narrow hallways. Model B (Up & Down) has two stacks glowing above and below one wall plate, giving more light for bathroom mirrors, entries and feature walls.
Beside a bed, place the stone about 48–54″ above the floor, roughly 20–24″ above the mattress. Beside a mirror or along a hallway, aim for 60–66″ to the centre of the fixture, which puts the glow near eye level without glare.
Beside a mirror, space the two sconces about 36–40″ apart, centred on the mirror. Beside a bed, set each one 6–10″ outside the edge of the headboard so the light falls on your book, not your pillow.
Yes, in a dry area such as beside a vanity mirror. It is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations, so keep it away from the shower, tub and direct water splashes.
Each sconce has a built-in LED in 3000K warm white, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace. The light sits inside the stack and glows evenly through every piece of alabaster.
The standard version uses a push-button switch and is not dimmable. A dimmable version is available on request, so please contact us before you order and we will confirm the details.
It runs on AC 110–240V, which suits standard US household wiring as well as most other countries.
The sconce mounts to a standard wall junction box and is hardwired. For safety and local code compliance, we recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
Gold and Black. Gold echoes the warm honey tones in the stone, while Black gives a crisp, graphic contrast against light walls.
Yes. Choose the option marked (*2) to receive two sconces at a better price than buying them one by one, ideal for both sides of a bed or mirror.
It will be very close, but never identical. Alabaster is natural stone, so veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece, which is the mark of genuine material rather than a defect.
Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners, as alabaster is a soft, porous stone that can mark or lose its sheen.
Send us a photo of your wall, and we will suggest the model, height and spacing.

Natural stone lighting
The Vidir lighting edit
Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.
Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.
Designed for better living
Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Our product
Alabaster Cylindrical Chain Chandelier
Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
THE ART OF ALABASTER
The natural texture of alabaster brings a warm, mineral quality to the space. (Please contact us if you require a specific texture.)
A pure white texture reminiscent of fresh snow—warm, smooth, and refined.
Deep, inky patterns flow across a white base.
A dynamic pattern resembling a bolt of lightning streaking across the sky.
Fine, intricate cracks evoking the aesthetic beauty of a sheet of ice at the moment it shatters.
A pattern as light and airy as falling snowflakes, with every single flake unique.
Material · Method · Light
Every texture tells a story of natural light and patient craftsmanship.

Crafted from select natural alabaster, preserving its unique veining.
Meticulously cut and shaped by artisans.
Repeatedly ground and polished for a smooth, refined texture.
Carefully assembled and quality-inspected.
