The story
Remember the game of pick-up sticks? A handful of slender sticks tossed onto the table, landing in a lively criss-cross, each at its own angle.
Asta, the Italian word for a rod, freezes that moment in light. Long, slender rods of natural white alabaster, capped and jointed with brass, hang on fine cables from a single round canopy. Each rod floats at its own angle, so together they form a light, sculptural composition that changes as you walk around it. Switch it on and the alabaster glows warm along its length, while the brass caps catch the light: soft natural stone and warm metal, in quiet contrast.
Choose from 2 to 6 rods. The Asta suits modern organic, wabi-sabi, minimalist, Japandi and quiet-luxury interiors.
Size and compositions
Every model fits within the same Ø 60 × H 150 cm (Ø 23.6″ × H 59.1″) outline. Choose how many rods fill it.

Translucent and soft, it carries the light along the whole rod and reveals gentle, cloud-like veining when lit.
Solid brass end caps and a centre collar frame the glow, catch the light and give each rod a crisp, tailored finish.
Made for your space
Each rod is cut from natural white alabaster, so its veining and subtle variations in colour are unique. Your light may differ slightly from the images shown, which is exactly what makes it one of a kind. Want a particular look? Just contact us.
Questions, answered
All models share the same Ø 60 × H 150 cm (Ø 23.6″ × H 59.1″) outline, so the choice is about density and drama. 2 rods give a calm, linear accent; 3 or 4 a balanced composition for a dining table or living room; 5 or 6 a full sculptural cluster for a stairwell, entrance hall or double-height space.
A common rule is a chandelier about half to two-thirds the width of the table. At Ø 60 cm, the Asta suits round or square tables of about 90–120 cm (35–47″), or the centre of a longer table.
The overall height is up to 150 cm (59.1″), set by the 150 cm cables. Over a table, aim for the lowest rod about 75–90 cm (30–36″) above the surface; where people walk below, keep at least 2.1 m (7 ft) of clearance. For tall or double-height ceilings, longer cables are available on request.
Yes. The rods are natural white alabaster, so their veining and tone are unique to every piece. The end caps and centre collars are brass.
Alabaster is translucent, so it carries light along the rod and glows warm. Brass is solid and reflective, so the caps frame the glow and add a refined, tailored accent.
No. Installed in a dry indoor room, natural alabaster stays stable; it does not yellow like plastic or resin. Over the years it may develop a soft, warm patina.
The standard Asta switches on and off only, and dimmable bulbs alone will not change that. For dimming, choose our dimmable version, made on request: please contact us before ordering.
All rods hang from a single round ceiling canopy, so only one electrical connection is needed. It should be installed by a qualified electrician on a ceiling box rated for the weight of the stone, following local electrical codes.
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor locations only. Alabaster is slightly water-soluble and loses its lustre in damp conditions.
Switch off and let it cool. Dust the rods and caps with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners: alabaster is porous, and harsh cleaners can mark the brass.
Each chandelier is prepared at our factory in 5–10 days, then dispatched to you. Custom options such as longer cables may add a little time; you will see the delivery estimate for your country at checkout.

Natural stone lighting
The Vidir lighting edit
Most shades block light and let it out at the edges. Yet, this stone-textured lampshade manages to achieve exactly that.
Alabaster is translucent. Switch it on and the whole shade lights up from within, veining and all, instead of glowing only where the bulb sits. There is no bright spot to look at, because the light source is the entire surface.
The veining was decided underground, long before anyone cut it. Every shade carries its own pattern and its own faint colour shift — so the piece that arrives is not the piece in the photograph, and that is the point.
Resin and acrylic imitations go amber and brittle within a few years of sitting next to a warm bulb. Stone does not age that way. The shade you unpack is the shade you will have in twenty years.
Designed for better living
Use warm white (2700K). The stone itself has an off-white, creamy tone; cool light passing through it makes it look grayish and dingy, whereas warm light brings out that honey-like hue seen in the photos.
Alabaster is a natural stone that absorbs water and cleaning agents, which can leave permanent stains. Disconnect the power, let the bulb cool down, and then wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth—do not use water or spray cleaners.
The density of the stone is far greater than that of a glass shade of the same size; ensure the ceiling's load-bearing capacity is sufficient for safety.

Our product
Alabaster Cylindrical Chain Chandelier
Alabaster is translucent, so the light travels through the stone rather than escaping at the edges — the whole shade glows, veining and all. Every piece carries a pattern that was decided underground, which is why no two are alike.
Resin is cast in moulds, so the "veining" repeats from one shade to the next and the light passes through evenly with no depth to it. It also ages differently: sitting close to a warm bulb, resin tends to amber and grow brittle within a few years.
