Curator LED Picture LightA private gallery, lit after hours

The Curator LED Picture Light is an adjustable linear wall sconce that brings museum-style lighting home, washing your artwork, mirror or bookshelf in a warm 3000K glow from a slim integrated LED bar that tilts up and down.

Modern TraditionalTransitionalEnglish CountryMid-Century ModernModern Minimalist

The Story

Think of a small museum after closing time. The visitors have gone home, the ceiling lights are off, and one slender lamp still glows above a favorite painting, drawing out every brushstroke and every detail of the frame. The Curator brings that quiet, after-hours feeling into your own living room, hallway or study.

The Craft

A round backplate with fine concentric rings anchors it to the wall. A short arm leads to an adjustable knuckle joint with a small wing screw, so you can tilt the light bar up or down and lock it at the angle you like. The finish comes in Gold, Brushed Nickel or Black to match your frames and hardware.

The Light

Beneath the bar, a long polycarbonate diffuser spreads the light evenly from end to end, with no hot spots and no visible bulbs. The warm 3000K glow brings out the depth of oil paint, the grain of a wood frame and natural skin tones in a mirror, and the LED is built in, so there is nothing to replace.

It does not compete with your art. It simply lets it be seen.VIDIR LIGHTING

Light Studio · Tilts Up & Down

Aim the light, set the mood

The knuckle joint lets the light bar tilt up and down, so one fixture can wash a whole canvas, light a mirror evenly or cast a soft glow onto the wall. Tap the options below to try it.

Tilt Up or Down

Tilted up, the bar throws a soft glow onto the wall above, a calm accent light for evenings and bedside corners.

Kept level, the light forms an even band, ideal over a mirror, a bookshelf or a display niche.

Tilted down, the light falls across the whole canvas, the classic gallery look for paintings and prints.

Finish

Push-Button Switch

Illustration only. Actual light spread depends on frame size and mounting height.

Tilt Down

Artwork & Prints

Angle the bar down so the light sweeps across the canvas from top to bottom, not just the top edge of the frame.

Level

Mirrors & Shelves

Keep the bar level for an even band of light over a hallway mirror, a bookshelf or a display niche.

Tilt Up

Soft Wall Glow

Tilt the bar up to throw a gentle glow onto the wall above, a calm accent light for evenings and bedside corners.

Size

Compact, made for everyday frames

One size that suits most framed art, mirrors and shelves in a home. Hang two side by side for wider pieces.

Curator LED Picture Light dimension drawing, L 25 cm x H 25 cm
DimensionsL 25 cm x H 25 cm / L 9.8″ x H 9.8″

The frame-size rule

A picture light usually suits a frame about twice its own length. At 25 cm (9.8″), the Curator is a natural fit for frames up to about 50 cm (20″) wide.

For wider canvases, hang two lights side by side. For mirrors, choose one roughly two to three times the width of the light.

Mounting tip

Center the light above your artwork with the bar a few inches over the top edge of the frame, then tilt it down until the canvas is evenly lit. Over a mirror, keep it level for soft, even light.

Light & Power

Is the Curator LED Picture Light dimmable?

The standard fixture is not dimmable and uses a simple push-button switch. If you need a dimmable version, please contact us before ordering.

Do I need to buy bulbs?

No bulbs are needed because the LED is built into the light bar. It is ready to use as soon as it is installed.

What color is the light?

It comes in 3000K warm white by default, a cozy tone close to a classic incandescent lamp. This warm light brings out the depth of oil paint, wood frames and skin tones.

Can I choose a different color temperature?

3000K warm white is the default for this light. Please contact us before you order to ask about other color temperatures.

How do I turn it on and off?

A push-button switch turns the light on and off. There is no remote or app to set up, so it is simple for everyone at home.

Does it work with US household power?

Yes, it is rated for AC 110–240V and works with standard US household power. The same fixture also works in most other countries.

Tilting & Placement

Can the light tilt up and down?

Yes. The knuckle joint lets you tilt the light bar up or down, then tighten the wing screw to hold the angle.

Which angle is best for artwork?

Tilt the bar down so the light falls across the whole canvas, not just the top of the frame. Start halfway and adjust until any glare on the glass disappears.

What size artwork does it suit?

It suits frames up to about 20″ (50 cm) wide. For wider pieces, hang two lights side by side.

How high should I mount it?

Center it above the artwork with the light bar a few inches over the top edge of the frame. Then tilt it down until the canvas is evenly lit.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations only. Keep it away from showers, tubs and damp areas, and use it over hallway or dressing table mirrors instead.

Will the light damage my artwork?

LED light gives off very little heat and UV compared with halogen bulbs. That makes it a gentle choice for paintings, prints and photos.

Finish & Care

Which finish should I choose?

Gold suits gilt and wood frames, Brushed Nickel matches silver and chrome, and Black fits modern black frames. Matching the finish to your frame or hardware gives the most polished look.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners to protect the finish.

Order & Shipping

How long until it ships?

Each order is prepared at our factory in 5–10 days on average. It then ships directly to you.

Is it cheaper to buy two?

Yes, buying two together costs less than buying them one at a time. Select the size marked (*2) when you order.
