An alabaster lantern on a bloom of acanthus leaves

The Medallion Alabaster Wall Sconce sets a softly fluted lantern of natural white alabaster against a round gold wall plate sculpted with acanthus leaves. Filigree caps and small finials frame the stone, so the sconce feels like a treasured piece passed down through generations. The acanthus leaf has decorated temple columns, palace ceilings and grand salons since ancient times, a symbol of beauty that endures. Here it blooms across the wall plate like a sculpted rosette, while the alabaster lantern above turns any bulb into a warm, candle-like glow. Switched off, the stone shows gentle clouds of ivory. Choosing & Care

Which version should I choose, 1 Head or 2 Heads?

The 1 Head (H 37 cm / 14.6″) is ideal in pairs beside a mirror or bed, and along hallways where space is tight. The 2 Heads (H 57 cm / 22.4″) gives twice the light and a taller presence, so it suits fireplace walls, entries and larger vanities.

How high should I mount the sconce?

Beside a bathroom mirror or along a hallway, place the centre of the medallion about 60–66″ above the floor. Beside a bed, about 48–54″ works well, so the glow sits just above shoulder height when you are sitting up.

How far apart should I hang a pair?

Beside a vanity mirror, space two sconces about 36–40″ apart, centred on the mirror. Beside a bed, set each one 6–10″ outside the edge of the headboard.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

Yes, in a dry area such as beside a vanity mirror. The sconce is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations, so keep it away from the shower, tub and direct water splashes.

Is the shade real alabaster?

Yes. The lantern is shaped from natural white alabaster, so every shade carries its own soft clouds and veins. This variation is the mark of genuine stone rather than a defect.

How should I care for the alabaster?

Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, sprays and chemical cleaners, as alabaster is a soft, porous stone that can mark or lose its sheen.

Light & Installation

What bulb does it use?

Each head takes one E12 or E14 bulb, up to 40W, sold separately. For the warmest glow through the stone, we recommend a 2700K LED bulb of around 4–6W, which gives the look of a 40W bulb with far less heat.

Is it dimmable?

The standard sconce has a push-button switch and is not dimmable. If you need a dimmable version, please contact us before ordering and we will confirm the options.

What voltage does it support?

It runs on AC 110–240V, which suits standard US household wiring as well as most other countries.

How is it installed?

The medallion mounts over a standard wall junction box and the sconce is hardwired. For safety and local code compliance, we recommend installation by a licensed electrician.

Is there a better price for a pair?

Yes. Choose the option marked (*2) to receive two sconces at a better price than buying them one by one, ideal for both sides of a mirror, bed or fireplace.

How soon will it ship?

Each sconce is prepared at our factory in 5–10 days on average, then carefully packed to protect the stone and shipped.
