The Marlowe Alabaster Cone Shade Chandelier balances natural alabaster cone shades on slim, outstretched arms, each resting on a finely fluted socket cup beneath a single downrod.

Imagine a long dinner in a country house, small shaded lamps glowing at intervals along the table while conversation drifts late into the evening. That gentle, table-lamp light is what makes a room feel intimate, and it is exactly what Marlowe brings to your dining room or kitchen.

Each cone shade casts a soft pool of light down onto the table, while the alabaster itself glows warm cream, revealing veins that are different in every piece. The result is layered, flattering light: bright enough to serve dinner, soft enough to linger over dessert.

The frame is kept deliberately light. A single downrod with a fluted collar opens into slim arms, so the chandelier feels airy and sculptural rather than heavy, and never blocks the view across the room. Fluted socket cups echo the collar above, a quiet classical detail you notice up close.

How to read it: H is the height of the chandelier body. Add the 39.4" / 100 cm downrod for the maximum overall height from ceiling to the bottom of the shades. The height is set during installation, and longer downrods or a sloped-ceiling mount can be made to order.

Natural alabaster, never the same twice

Every Marlowe shade is cut from natural alabaster, a soft, translucent stone formed slowly by nature. Its clouds, veins and tones are part of the stone itself, never printed, painted or repeated.

Light and bulbs

Does it support dimming?

Dimming depends on the bulbs you choose. With dimmable E12 or E14 bulbs, Marlowe can be dimmed.

Are bulbs included?

No, bulbs are not included. Each shade takes one E12 or E14 bulb.

E12 or E14, which will I receive?

E12 is the US candelabra standard and E14 is common in Europe. Let us know if you need a specific socket for your region.

Which bulbs do you recommend?

Warm white LED candelabra bulbs (2700K–3000K) bring out the glow of the stone and stay cool.

Size and installation

Which size should I choose?

The compact 2-light suits tables of about 4–5 ft, the long 2-light about 6–8 ft, and the 4-light suits wide or round tables.

How high should it hang over the table?

Keep the bottom of the shades 30–36" (76–91 cm) above the tabletop.

How long is the downrod?

The downrod is 39.4" / 100 cm. Longer downrods can be made to order for high ceilings.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

Yes. A sloped-ceiling mount can be made to order so the chandelier hangs level; send us your ceiling angle.

Does it work with US power?

Yes, it runs on AC 110–240V, which covers standard US household power.

Who should install it?

We recommend having a licensed electrician install it to meet local electrical codes.

Is the alabaster real stone?

Yes, every shade is natural alabaster, so veining and tone vary slightly from piece to piece.

Can I choose the veining style?

Yes. Email us your preference before your order is prepared and we will match it as closely as possible.

How do I clean it?

Turn it off and let it cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. Avoid water and chemical cleaners on the stone.

How long until it ships?

It ships from our factory after 5 to 10 days of preparation.
