The story
Named after the stones that mark the way
On mountain paths from the Scottish Highlands to the Himalayas, travellers stack stones one on top of another. These cairns mark the trail, so whoever comes next knows they are on the right path. Each one is simple, balanced and a little different from the last.
The Cairn alabaster floor lamp is a cairn that glows. Natural alabaster, carved into spheres, columns and softly rounded drums, is stacked into a single upright column, separated by slim metal rings and set on a round black marble base.
Switch it on and the whole column lights from within, top to bottom, with soft, cloud-like veining. By day it reads as a stone sculpture; by night, as a warm totem of light in the corner of a living room, beside a sofa or a bed, or at the end of a hallway. It suits modern organic, Japandi, wabi-sabi, Mediterranean and contemporary interiors.

Is it real alabaster?
Yes. Every piece of the column is natural white alabaster, not resin or glass, and the base is black marble.
Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not identical. Each piece is natural stone, so veining and tone vary slightly. That variation is part of its character, not a defect.
Size
Which height should I choose?
160 cm (63″) suits standard ceilings beside a sofa, bed or reading chair. 190 cm (74.8″) makes a statement in open-plan rooms, entryways and rooms with higher ceilings.
How much floor space does it need?
Both heights stand on a Ø 30 cm (11.8″) round base, so a small corner is enough.

What kind of light does it give?
A warm 3000K glow from a built-in LED, softened by the stone. It is ambient, atmospheric light rather than a focused reading light.
Do I need to buy bulbs?
No. The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace.
How do I turn it on?
With your foot. A foot switch lies on the floor along the power cord: step once for on, once for off.
Does it need an electrician?
No. The Cairn plugs into a standard wall socket, so there is nothing to wire or install.
Is it dimmable?
The standard Cairn is on/off only. A dimmable version is available on request: please contact us before ordering.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for indoor, dry rooms only.

لون الإضاءة يحدد المظهر
استخدم اللون الأبيض الدافئ (2700 كلفن). يتميز الحجر بحد ذاته بلمحة كريمية مائلة للبياض؛ فالضوء البارد الذي يمر عبره يجعله يبدو رمادياً وباهتاً، بينما يبرز الضوء الدافئ ذلك اللون الشبيه بالعسل الذي يظهر في الصور.

يُنظف بقطعة قماش جافة فقط
الألباستر حجر طبيعي يمتص الماء ومواد التنظيف، مما قد يترك بقعاً دائمة. افصل التيار الكهربائي، واترك المصباح ليبرد، ثم امسح القطعة بقطعة قماش ناعمة وجافة؛ لا تستخدم الماء أو المنظفات البخاخ.
